My Unpopular Beauty Opinions
I am a very opinionated person who has been doing makeup for a very long time. I feel like I have gone through cycles of products and have used many of the viral products that are popular right now, so I am going to share my unpopular opinions with you all!
I think my top opinion right now is that the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter primer is so insanely overrated. Don’t get me wrong, I use it everyday and I enjoy it, but there is no need for it to be always sold out in every shade in every story at all times. Other illuminating primers that I love are the Rare Beauty Illuminating Primer and the Supergoop Glow Screen (its sunscreen but it works perfectly as a primer)!
My next unpopular opinion would have to be to stop wasting your money on expensive setting powder! I have been using the Maybelline FitMe powders since middle school and they have NEVER failed me. I could never imagine spending $30 on powder. Obviously everyone has the products that work for them, but this is something big to me.
Lastly, I hate beauty sponges. I was a die-hard Beauty Blender user for years, but when I switched to blending my cream products in with a brush, I vowed to never go back. Sponges absorb too much product and I can never get it to be the perfect level of damp, which messes up my makeup. I’ll continue using my foundation brush for the rest of my makeup career.
In all honesty, everyone has their own opinions on just about everything and these are mine. I think everyone should do what makes them happy and if that’s using a beauty blender, go for it! The most important opinion to me is to buy what works for you, not what works for everybody else.
I always tried to get into the beauty blender craze but I hated it no matter what tips and tricks I tried I ditched foundation all together I felt so frustrated. If I shop like, BIG brands I usually scour TJMAXX and Marshals to be honest, if you just check that everything is sealed I get Morphe, KVD, Too Faced, Glossier, etc. for half the price.
ReplyDeleteI think too sponges that aren't taken care of well can hold a lot of gross things that aren't good for the face, so it makes sense that brushes might be easier to use and easier to care for.
